2007 Kansas State Fiddling and Picking Championships
August 26-27, Lawrence, Kansas

The 27th Annual Kansas State Fiddling and Picking Championship will kick off at noon on Sunday, August 26th at South Park in Lawrence, KS. This free event will include competitions in fiddle featuring a separate youth division. Flatpick guitar, fingerpick guitar, mandolin and banjo. There will also be championships awarded for mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, ensemble folk singing and the ever-popular miscellaneous acoustic instruments.

Saturday, August 26th
Roots Music Workshops, 1pm-7pm
Free Ice Cream Social, 7pm

Americana Will host a series of Roots Music Workshops on Saturday, Aug. 25,
Beginning at 1pm at the South Park Recreation Building in South Park, Lawrence Kansas.

They will be as follows:
1pm. Fiddling - Diane Gillenwater
1pm  Flat Picking Guitar (I'm not sure who will do this one)

2:15pm Ol' Timey Banjo - Jim Krause
2:15pm Scruggs Style  - Noah Musser

3:30 pm Mandolin - Joe Pickett
3:30 pm Harmony Vocals - Michael Paull

6:30pm  Jamming basics with Steve Mason

All workshops are $10.00 per person, (You can pay at the Door)
all proceeds to benefit Americana Music Academy.

Don't forget the Ice Cream Social and Jam Session on the Lawn of South Park beginning @ 7pm, that evening.
